Blogging on the Brain

I know I've been quiet here recently. It's because I've been working on some new blogs. I'm totally bitten by the writing bug. Everything I do, I think, "Hmmm, that might make a good blog post." I need to start carrying around a notebook to jot down all my ideas.

I'd love it if you visit (and subscribe!) my other blogs. Each one is a bit more specialized, as opposed this one, which is kind of a mish-mash. I'd love to hear your feedback. What you'd like to see on each blog. Suggestions of topics, etc.

To make life easier, here are the links:

  • Cup of Creativi-Tea: I'm sharing all things creative, whethere it's cooking, sewing, or kid crafts. Maybe some bellydancing (that's creative!). I'm also adding lots of tutorials.
  • I'm Not the Nanny: Parenting stories, with some musings about raising biracial kids in a racially conscious world
  • Laugh in Bed: Intimacy and relationships. Maybe some sex.

I'll still post here occassionally until I get the other ones established! Thanks for reading!

Midnight Snacking

I thought I would eat better this year and hopefully lose some weight. However, in order to do that I need to stop my late night snacking. But it's just sooo good. LOL. I don't think it even matters what I snack on. Is this because I forget to eat breakfast?

Hubby and I have a date this Saturday! We're celebrating Valentine's Day a bit later, since I had to work last week. Thanks to DC Restaurant week. I'm a huge fan of Jose Andres so we're going to have lunch at Cafe Atlantico. Thanks to my sister for making it all possible. Not only did we receive a giftcard from her for his restaurants, she's even babysitting. Oh, check out her new blog and give her some comment love!

My food fantasy would be to eat at Minibar. I've seen so many videos on the cool things he does there. Of course it's incredibly expensive and hard to get reservations. There's only 2 seatings a night and only room for 6 people. You should see Anthony Bourdain's episode of No Reservations with Jose Andres. Check out the video. You'll drool too.

On the crafting point, my new Joann's sales flyer advertised the Yudu by Provo Craft. It looked just like a Gocco. So I had to look it up. Now I so totally want one. I want to see how it compares to the Gocco. Unfortunately I don't have $300 to experiment with it. The advantage of the Yudu it seems is that the screens are reuseable. So supplies might not be as expensive as you don't need to keep buying new screens and bulbs as with the Gocco. The gocco is also discontinued.

I also like that's bigger and specifically designed for fabric applications, mainly tshirts. Based on the video on HSN, it seems to take a bit longer to make a screen. However, you don't need a carbon based ink to make a screen like the Gocco. So far it sounds really good. I need to see one in person.

Anyone need me to review a Yudu? I'm available. :)

Don't forget about my contest! You still have time to enter.

A Contest--Win a Lipstick Vibe

EDIT: Contest extended until March 15th, while I try to get my ducks in a row!

Happy Valentine's Weekend! I know it's a day early, but I promised you some romance tips right? Check out Savvy Source, where I'm a guest writer for today. There are great tips on how to keep the fire burning in your relationship. (There's also a special for Savvy Source readers who want to shop at my website.)

To celebrate Valentine's weekend, I'm having a contest. I've been thinking about starting a blog that focuses more on sex and relationships. I don't want to do it here because it might get explicit (oh la la). Since not everyone wants to read about explicit sex (wonder what google search hits I'll get for that), I want to keep it separate.

Your mission, should you decide to accept:
What's a great title for a sex and relationship blog? The blog will have a casual feel (after all, I'm no doctor). I hope to provide awesome tips, a bit of education and reviews of toys, books, lotions, the whole shebang! And not always take myself too seriously. Sex is supposed to be fun.
Want to win this totally fabulous Lipstick Vibe ($25 value)? It's small, discreet and waterproof! Great for a midday pampering. Post your suggestion in the comments below. The title I like the best will win. However, I'll randomly pick one person to win a sexy surprise prize. I'm saying surprise because I don't know what it is yet.

1. You can enter as often as you like. However, you can't enter titles that are super similar, for example, The Sexy Lady or The Sexy Woman. Bonus points for being clever.

2. Tweet about the contest for an extra entry (for surprise prize). Make sure you add @thienkim so I can keep track.

3. Blog about it and link to my blog for another entry for the random drawing. Make sure you leave a comment with the link.

4. Subscribe to my blog feed. Post another comment that you've done so. Or if you already do, just say that.

5. The last day to enter is February 28, 2009.

I should be sharing romance tips

Once again, I'm ignoring my blog. Valentine's season has been keeping me super busy. I feel that since I'm a Passion Consultant I ought to pass along some romance tips. Don't worry it's coming. I promise. So I leave you with some random thoughts.

I also have a very cool contest/giveaway in the works too. Come back for that.

One reason I'm being lazy here is thanks to Twitter. I can't believe, I've only been on it a week. I'm even considering getting a phone with a qwerty keyboard so I can twitter away from my computer. Crazy, I know. I don't even like texting.

The date for annual Louisiana Colleges Alumni crawfish boil has been announced! I can totally plan the rest of May around it now. If you're in the DC area, you should go. It's an all you can eat crawfish, corn, potato, jambalaya, and beer fest. Last year we almost got rained out. True to Louisianan fashion, some guys stripped down to their shorts and went mudsliding. Yep, grown men mudsliding to zydeco music. Gotta love it!

My Passion Parties team and I have a booth at the Washington Wedding Expo this Sunday, Feb 15th. Come by and visit. We're giving away some great prizes.
