Okay, here are some questions from the apron swap:
1. first apron (that you can remember) I think my first aprons would be the ones I made working in summer theatre costume shops. That's all I can remember about them. They were super easy to make. I think it was for the show Oklahoma.
2. last (most recent) apron I made a half apron from this super ugly dress I found at the thrift store. It was yellow with applique'd flowers. So I cut it up and used the flowers part to make a pocket. I bought a bee applique to add on to it. Later I found the exact same dress but in blue, but I have cut it up yet.
3. dream/favorite apron I don't really have one. I prefer half-apron unless there's a cute full apron out there for us voluptuos gals.
4. dream sewing machine Hmmm, I've sewn on many different machines. That's from working in many summer theatres. Theatres are poor, you know, so I've sewn on very old machines. But I'm a big fan of those older machines, with the metal case. They're so sturdy and last forever! But I love using Bernina and Pfaff machines. I have a cheap Kenmore that needs to be serviced. The sad thing is, it's probably less expensive to replace it.
5. what do you put in your pockets? or what strange thing have you ever found in them? Since Sophia's been born, I keep my cellphone and my keys in my pocket. I still carry a purse along with my diaper bag. Hmmm, strangest thing in my pocket. Candy?
6. condiment(s) you can't live without. I love hot sauce. Not even high quality. I love Louisiana Hot Sauce. I grew up in Louisiana and it's a bit hard to find here in DC.
7. do you wear more showy aprons or dutiful ones? I like practical ones with a bit of flair. Something that makes it fun and sassy.
8. favorite cooking gadget Mini mortar and pestle. I received one as a gift and love it. It's great for crushing herbs and spices.
9. cooking gagdet that promised the world but didn't deliver That mini hand held food chopper. It doesn't really work well, and I hate cleaning all the parts.
10. a recipe that you know by heart and any stories behind it Hot and Sour Soup. I love this soup. It wasn't until years after I learned the recipe that I discovered it wasn't even really chinese! My sister and I searched high and lo for the recipe. In college I would make it almost every week.
Whew! It's late so have a good night!
Blogging on the Brain
I know I've been quiet here recently. It's because I've been working on some new blogs. I'm totally bitten by the writing bug. Everything I do, I think, "Hmmm, that might make a good blog post." I need to start carrying around a notebook to jot down all my ideas.
I'd love it if you visit (and subscribe!) my other blogs. Each one is a bit more specialized, as opposed this one, which is kind of a mish-mash. I'd love to hear your feedback. What you'd like to see on each blog. Suggestions of topics, etc.

I'll still post here occassionally until I get the other ones established! Thanks for reading!
