Blogging on the Brain

I know I've been quiet here recently. It's because I've been working on some new blogs. I'm totally bitten by the writing bug. Everything I do, I think, "Hmmm, that might make a good blog post." I need to start carrying around a notebook to jot down all my ideas.

I'd love it if you visit (and subscribe!) my other blogs. Each one is a bit more specialized, as opposed this one, which is kind of a mish-mash. I'd love to hear your feedback. What you'd like to see on each blog. Suggestions of topics, etc.

To make life easier, here are the links:

  • Cup of Creativi-Tea: I'm sharing all things creative, whethere it's cooking, sewing, or kid crafts. Maybe some bellydancing (that's creative!). I'm also adding lots of tutorials.
  • I'm Not the Nanny: Parenting stories, with some musings about raising biracial kids in a racially conscious world
  • Laugh in Bed: Intimacy and relationships. Maybe some sex.

I'll still post here occassionally until I get the other ones established! Thanks for reading!

Groceries!

I love grocery shopping. Maybe it's because we have a limited budget, and I've substituted groceries for clothes. BUT today was the first day in ages that I was able to cook some yummy yummy meals. AND, I'm trying to be smart. When I bought our meat, I marinated them in their freezer bags! So when I defrost them, they'll be marinating. Clever huh? This will save me some time. Now that a lot of my time goes towards watching Sophia, whenever I get a chance to cook, I cook several meals. I love to cook. I miss it actually, so whenever DH is off of work, I pass the baby to him and cook!

Let's see, today I made a lowfat Leek & Potato soup. I just had a bowl. I sprinkled some fake bacon and cheddar cheese on it. DH grilled some shrimp I marinated in soy sauce and sesame seeds. Along with the shrimp is one of my all time favorite Asian style black bean salad. The recipe is from Kathleen Daelemans' cookbook. The salad calls for cucumbers, mango, and cilantro. Except the mango I bought today wasn't even ripe (oops), so I used peaches instead. It was good-but I like the mango better. I'll post my adapted recipe later. You can view the recipe by searching inside the book on Amazon--it's on page 272.
